1. What is Voice over Internet Protocol or VoIP service?

Voices over Internet Protocol works just like a regular phone service, but instead of going through landlines, your calls go through your Broadband connection. Use Halo’s VoIP service to quickly and easily connect satellite offices, home offices and remote employees.

2. What VoIP equipment options are available?

Halo offers a wide variety of equipment. We will assist you in determining the best equipment to suit your needs.

3. Can I dial 911 using VoIP?

Yes, Halo Small Business Solutions provides enhanced 911 service.

*Please note – if there is a power outage or your broadband service is interrupted, this service will not work. There are also some important differences between dialing 911 from this phone compared to your standard phone that you should also familiarize yourself with.

4. Can I use my existing phone number with Halo’s VoIP service?

Halo allows you to port over your existing phone number to our service.

5. What type of bandwidth is needed for the phone to work?

You need a high speed DSL, cable or fiber connection with at least 128 Kbps upstream and 384 downstream speeds. The Internet connection via cable modem must be 2 way cable.
